Say-mah-mit or səl̓ilw̓ət - Say-mah-mit is the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (Hun’qumyi’num) name of the once populous village for the Tsleil-Waututh that resided here. səl̓ilw̓ət is the the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (Hun’qumyi’num) name for Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm sleil-Waututh is an anglicised version of səl̓ilw̓ət, meaning The People of the Inlet”.

Tucked along the east end of Burrard Inlet, the city of Port Moody is home to a vibrant community of local makers, bakers, and growers who recently debuted a Summer Farmers’ Market in the parking lot of the local Rec Centre.
Local farmers, food and beverage producers welcomed this seasonal extension of the popular winter market – providing a fresh opportunity to display their goods and interact with the local community alongside hot food trucks, live music, and friendly faces from throughout the region.
