Gambier Island Farmers Market
Gambier Island / Chá7elkwnech
Chá7elkwnech - The Sḵwx̱wú7mesh sníchim (Squamish) name which references the Islands deep protected bays
Started in 2017 with just two vendors selling homemade baked goods, coffee, and traditional chai tea, this local community market has evolved into a “market crawl” around Gambier Harbour. Island residents participate by setting up stalls at the end of their driveways to sell baked goods, fresh veggies, fruits, and flowers from their gardens, and handmade art and crafts. Find everything from homemade vegan ice cream pops, to cinnamon buns and other baked goods, to lavender farm products, paintings, and wood furniture and carved items.
Its location makes this a true local to local market where neighbours can support neighbours.
We respectfully acknowledge our market takes place on the Unceded and Traditional land of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and Coast Salish Peoples.
