Bella Coola Farmers’ Market
Bella Coola / Q'umk'uts
Q'umk'uts - "Bella Coola" it is a derivation of the neighbouring Wakashan-speaking coastal Heiltsuk people's name for the Nuxalk as bəlxwəlá or bḷ́xʷlá, meaning "stranger". The Nuxalk endonym for the local region is "Nuxalk", and the endonym for the specific village site of Bella Coola is "Q'umk'uts".

Experience the culinary wonders of the Bella Coola Valley micro-climate.
Tucked inside a Quonset hut on the Bella Coola Fairgrounds, the culinary wonders of the Bella Coola Valley’s micro-climates have been on offer every Sunday for more than 20 years at this unique farmers’ market. As the season progresses, local food producers display everything from squash, beans, and peas, to cherries, walnuts, and peaches – while the local community gathers around with hot coffee and fresh baked goods.
We recognize that we are guests located on the unceded, ancestral, and traditional territory of the Nuxalkmc people and we are grateful to be able to farm and host our market here on their land.
This market participates in the BC Farmers' Market Nutrition Coupon Program.
